Osimo is a hidden gem that is only a short distance from Ancona and the beach resorts of Numana, which has a great deal to offer. You can go to one of the many historic churches, such as the Romanesque Cathedral of San Leopardo or the cathedral of Osimo, or go to an exhibition hosted by Palazzo Campana (which varies its events throughout the year) or stroll pleasantly among the historic walls, between the streets full of typical stores until you reach the Municipal Gardens, where you can take in the magnificent view of the Marche hills and lose yourself in the horizon.

Recanati also has numerous works by the painter Lorenzo Lotto, and the tenor Beniamino Gigli was born in this small town as well: it is a treasure to be discovered!

Ancona, the capital of the Marche region, is easily recognizable even on maps since it is situated at the point where the Marche contour forms an 'elbow curve,' and its name derives from the Greek word 'ankon' (elbow). There are ancient structures like the Arch of Trajan and the Cathedral of San Ciriaco, as well as more contemporary ones like the Mole Vanvitelliana and the Monument to the Fallen at the "Passetto", both of which are barely a century old.
